Robert Paloutzian's El Genero® Brand Web Page At long last I've updated my Pepperclone page. Check out my collection now!

Did you ever notice that for every store that has it's generic brand of soda, you've got your "Cola" and your "Lemon-Lime",
but when it comes to Dr. Pepper, they have to come up with a name that conveys the idea of the mystery flavor we love so.
I found this amusing, so I started a collection. Check it out:

Me? I don't touch the stuff...

From top left to bottom right: Mr. Pibb, Dr. Starr, Dr. Stripes, Dr. Select, Real Dr., Dr. Thirst, Dr. Thunder, Southern Lightning,
Dr. Becker, Dr. Shasta, Dr. Rocket, Dr. Wells, Dr. West, Real Dr. (new can), Dr. Pop, Dr. A+, Dr. Joe's, Dr. Skipper, Dr. Slice,
Dr. Pepper, Dr. Shasta (oops, in there twice), Dr. Wild, Dr. Best, Real Dr. (newest can), Dr. Parker, Dr. K, Dr. Cheaper, Skipper (old school),
Dr. Gulpster, & Dr. Whatever.

Not counting duplicates, that's 25 Pepper clones (Southern Lightning is the old name of Dr. Thunder.)

My Favorite, as far as the name, is Dr. Cheaper. As far as taste, I liked Dr. Slice, but it just isn't the same as the original.

OK, so now you're wondering, what about Mountain Dew? Couldn't you say the same thing? Well, I guess you could...

Yes, I do believe my life has meaning...

Once again, from top left to bottom right: Mountain Lightning, Mountain Mist, It'sa Dew, Mountain Joe's, Mist with a Twist, Mountain Dew,
Mello Yello, Surge, Mountain Best, Mountain Holler, Mountain Rush, Citrus Mountain, Mountain Breeze, Alpine Mist, & Mountain Gulpster.

All told, that's 15 Dew clones. Not bad...

For some reason, I just dig the name Mountain Holler. Mist with a Twist is probably the best tasting, overall.

That's it, I'm through!
